SHABBAT OF A LIFETIME
The Shabbat of a Lifetime program offers an opportunity for incoming tourists of all backgrounds to experience an Authentic Shabbat (Jewish Sabbath) at the home of a host family in the heart of Jerusalem. Shabbat of a Lifetime participants receive an informative introduction to Shabbat while dining on a five course meal with their hosts.
Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we aren't able to welcome our wonderful guests into our physical homes. That being said, we are committed to providing the Shabbat of a Lifetime experience virtually in order to connect our travelers around the world and build meaningful experiences at our virtual tables. Guests will receive an informative introduction to Israeli culture and Jewish customs through meeting with local Israeli families in Jerusalem.
An Authentic Jewish Evening
Shabbat of a Lifetime was created by a team of Jewish educators with the goal of developing a Shabbat evening program for incoming tourists of all backgrounds to experience an authentic Friday night in Jerusalem. At Shabbat of a Lifetime, we combine the personal touch of home-hospitality with a high standard of professionalism and attention to detail. On the Shabbat of a Lifetime program, one will discover the beauties of Jerusalem, learn about Friday night traditions, and make personal connections with families living in Israel.
I’m still getting feedback from our staff about their experience but overall everything has been extremely positive. It was definitely a highlight for many participants. I’ve heard only positive feedback about the program and everyone absolutely loved their hosts. Thank you for helping to create this experience for the Birthright participants.
